On Sunday May 23rd, the Lacrosse Officials of Louisiana will hold its 2021 Post-Season Awards Party at the Fairview-Riverside State Park. The time for the event is TBD, but a pavilion at the park has been booked for the outdoor gathering.

The following awards will be presented:
Most Valuable Member – awarded by the board to a LOLA member who made significant contributions to the association
Golden Whistle Award – awarded in recognition of an official who has excelled during the regular season (Top Official)
Road Warrior Award – awarded to the official who traveled the most miles to cover LHSLL games during the regular season
Iron Man Award – awarded to the official who worked the most LSHLL games during the regular season
Rookie of the Year Award – awarded to a first year official that exemplified strong knowledge of the rules and mechanics, displayed superior field presence, demonstrated openness and diligence to learning, or any other behaviors that bring honor to the game and to officiating
Most Improved Official – awarded to an official who is in his second year (or higher) of lacrosse officiating that has shown the greatest effort to improve as a lacrosse official and has demonstrated that improvement
Also, LOLA will present a Sportsmanship Award to a LHSLL Coach who possesses a demonstrated history of sportsmanship. The coach will have displayed the utmost respect for high school lacrosse in Louisiana and all who participate, including officials, by leading by example and promoting a positive fan involvement in and out of the competition setting.
